Old Maps and other vintage prints

In 2013, my wife and I started 8 Red Fish Creative as a means of making extra money through graphic design and graphic prints.  Somewhere along the way, I got this bright idea to incorporate old maps into designs we made. I’ve always like old maps, so it seemed like a good idea.  We got our hands on two old Johnson’s Illustrated Family Atlases in 2016 – one from 1862 and the other from 1870 – plus a few loose maps we bought from an antiquarian bookseller in the Cleveland.  One thing led to another and we’ve ended up selling reprints on two Etsy stores.

This blog features some of my favorite maps and illustrative plates from old books we have in our collection as well as select items from the public domain.
